Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s parents had their inaugural joint appearance at the Chiefs vs. Raiders game at Arrowhead Stadium, creating an enduring moment that transcends trends.
Swift accompanied her parents, Andrea and Scott Swift, to observe the Kansas City Chiefs facing off against the Las Vegas Raiders on December 25. In a heartening scene documented on social media, Scott conversed with Travis Kelce’s father, Ed Kelce, during breaks in the game.
This familial gathering, inclusive of Taylor’s brother Austin Swift, occurred a week after Scott accompanied the “Anti-Hero” singer to witness the Chiefs playing against the New England Patriots in Foxborough, Mass. On December 17, he was spotted in a VIP suite alongside Taylor’s friends, including Alana Haim from the band HAIM, Ashley Avignone, and Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Preceding their presence at NFL games, Scott and Travis strengthened their bond at Taylor’s Eras Tour show in Buenos Aires, Argentina. During the November 11 concert, Swift playfully altered the lyrics of her song “Karma,” playfully acknowledging Travis by substituting the word “screen” with “Chiefs.”
Travis’s response to the lyric modification was one of enchantment, displaying a smile before shielding his face. Scott, capturing the celebratory mood, engaged in a high five and a pat on the back, all captured in an attendee’s video.
Nevertheless, Travis later expressed remorse for missing a subtle moment during the concert—the high-five with Taylor’s father. On the November 15 episode of their New Heights podcast, he recounted, “You were so surprised; you left Scott hanging.” Travis extended an apology to Mr. Swift, admitting, “Oh man, I missed that. I never miss a high five, too. It’s the most exhilarating thing you can experience at an event.”
