Mariah Carey‘s ex-boyfriend Bryan Tanaka has released a statement confirming their breakup, calling it a “mutual” separation.
The backup dancer for the singer posted a statement on Tuesday that began by saying they had made a mutual decision to go their separate ways and that they were deeply grateful for the time they had spent together as they embarked on different journeys.
He continues by expressing his affection for “Mariah and her amazing kids,” whose compassion and generosity have “enriched my life and left an indelible mark on my heart.” He says he will always treasure the cherished memories they’ve accumulated during their 7 years together.
Bryan concluded his statement by expressing his gratitude for the overwhelming love and support he has received from fans, calling it a “beacon of strength” that continues to uplift and encourage him during this challenging time.
Although Bryan stated that the separation was mutual, he was the only one who issued a statement, indicating that Mariah has not publicly confirmed or addressed the end of their relationship yet.
As we previously reported, Mariah and Bryan began their romantic involvement as far back as 2016. However, recent reports hinted at a potential rift due to Bryan’s desire for starting a family together, which didn’t align with Mariah’s views on the matter.
Before the initial rumors, Mariah sparked speculation by going on a solo shopping excursion in Aspen, Colorado. Her absence was notable since Bryan often accompanied her during their mountain retreats, fueling suggestions that she might have re-entered the dating scene.
It appears that his absence from her performances is attributed to their alleged separation, as Mariah is currently engaged in a tour while Bryan has been conspicuously missing from her shows.
