In an interview with ‘The Radio Times‘, she shared that she was told she was too tall to make it in the movies, with comments like “You won’t have a career, you’re too tall” ringing in her ears. Additionally, she revealed that she was nicknamed “Storky” due to her height. Despite these challenges, Kidman persevered and proved her doubters wrong, becoming a renowned and accomplished actress.

Nicole Kidman has proven her critics wrong, achieving immense success in Hollywood. She won the Best Actress Oscar in 2003 for “The Hours” and garnered five nominations throughout her career, solidifying her status as one of the industry’s most esteemed figures.

Nicole has revealed that she fibbed about her height to land roles, as strict height requirements in auditions led her to shave off centimeters from her true height to increase her chances of getting the part.

“I was told, ‘You won’t have a career. You’re too tall‘,” she stated in the interview.

“I was called ‘storky.’ [People would say], ‘How’s the air up there?!‘ [Now I get], ‘You’re so much taller than I thought,’ [and then] grappling with how high my heels should be.”

“Whenever you go on the red carpet, they send the shoes, and the shoes are always so high. And I’m like, ‘Do they have a kitten heel? I’m just going to be the tallest person – the giraffe!’ “

“I had to talk my way through the door, because they were measuring you before you went in. I was mortified.”

Hollywood’s tallest actresses

While Nicole Kidman’s 1.80 meters height is notable in Hollywood, she is not the tallest actress. Other actresses stand even taller, including Gwendoline Christie (1.91m), Elizabeth Debicki (1.90m), Brooke Shields, Sigourney Weaver, Allison Janney, and Jane Lynch (all 1.83m), as well as Uma Thurman and Blake Lively (both 1.78m). Zendaya also shares Kidman’s height of 1.80 meters.
