In the reported incident, a 63-year-old German man passed away after reportedly coughing up a significant amount of blood on a flight from Bangkok to Munich. Witnesses noted that the man appeared unwell from the moment he and his wife boarded the Lufthansa plane.

According to reports, the man who tragically passed away on the flight was observed sweating heavily and experiencing difficulty breathing. Despite his apparent condition, his partner assured the crew that he was fit to fly, attributing his symptoms to exhaustion from running to catch the flight. Shortly after take-off, the man’s condition rapidly deteriorated, leading him to spit blood into a bag before it began gushing from his mouth and nose. Witness Martin Missfelder described the scene as “absolute horror” with everyone on board screaming. Flight attendants made efforts to resuscitate the man for approximately 30 minutes before he was pronounced deceased. The incident resulted in significant blood splatter on the walls of the plane.

The Airbus A380 plane was indeed forced to turn back to Bangkok after only an hour and a half into the 12-hour journey. Witness Martin Missfelder described the situation upon landing as chaotic. He also expressed his sympathy for the wife of the deceased man, who had to go through customs alone while dealing with all the necessary formalities. Lufthansa, the airline involved, extended their condolences to the family of the passenger and acknowledged the inconvenience caused to the other passengers. They made arrangements to book alternative flights for those affected.
