Regrettably, a teenage surfer succumbed to injuries on Thursday after being attacked by a shark in South Australia. According to a witness, the distressing incident occurred in the presence of the victim’s father. The South Australia Police released a statement confirming that they were alerted to the attack at approximately 1:30 PM at Ethel Beach in the Innes National Park. Tragically, despite the arrival of medical personnel at the scene, the young surfer could not be revived.

A beach observer informed the Adelaide Advertiser that the teenager had been surfing with his father when a shark abruptly attacked, resulting in the loss of his leg. Another local individual swiftly responded by using his board to reach the victim and bring him to safety, despite the shark’s presence and the severity of the injuries.

Unfortunately, the efforts were in vain, as the victim’s injuries proved fatal. Regrettably, this incident marks the fifth reported shark attack in South Australia this year.

Moreover, the local area has witnessed frequent sightings of these marine creatures. Furthermore, it is noteworthy that another fatal shark attack occurred in May at Walkers Rock, which is situated west of the location where the teenager tragically lost his life on Thursday.
