During Saturday’s episode of The Masked Singer, Alexander Armstrong was unveiled as the celebrity behind the character Chicken Caesar. The actor and comedian, competed against Air Fryer, Bubble Tea, Owl, Eiffel Tower, and Piranha in the ITV show.
Armstrong expressed his excitement about participating in the program, stating that he had been eagerly anticipating it every year and had received numerous inquiries about whether he was Traffic Cone or other characters. He added that keeping the secret was relatively easy due to the use of code names for all participants. Armstrong also mentioned that wearing masks and gloves while filming added to the Squid Game-like atmosphere. He noted that not knowing who his co-stars were made the experience more intriguing since he could only gather clues from their singing abilities.
Dionne Warwick was the first character to be unmasked during last week’s episode. Joel Dommett returned as the show’s host alongside judges Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora, and Mo Gilligan. Next week’s episode will have a circus theme, with Olly Murs filling in for Rita Ora due to scheduling conflicts. The remaining characters competing on the show are Maypole, Cricket, Bigfoot, Dippy Egg, and Rat. Davina McCall revealed that she stormed off stage during filming after failing to guess the identity of a particular vocalist, who turned out to be a close friend she had known for years. She admitted that she felt embarrassed and humiliated but also called it “the greatest surprise” she had ever experienced.
The judge, admitted she was left so shocked and embarrassed after failing to guess the identity of one vocalist, who turned out to be a very close friend, she stomped off the set.
The Masked Singer airs on Saturdays at 7 pm on ITV1, ITVX & STV.
