The popular rock band Imagine Dragons is actively involved in assisting a 15-year-old Ukrainian boy and his family in rebuilding their home, which was devastated during the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
The teenager, Sashko, featured prominently in the band’s music video for the song “Crushed,” which gained widespread acclaim largely due to Sashko’s harrowing tale of loss at the hands of Russian forces. Following the complete destruction of the boy’s home in 2022, Imagine Dragons’ Director of Photography, Ty Arnold, encountered Sashko during a visit to Ukraine and was deeply moved by his story, prompting a desire to raise awareness of the adversities Sashko endured.
As a result of the music video’s impact, significant contributions were made to UNITED24, a donation platform initiated by President Zelensky to support Ukrainians affected by the conflict, facilitated by Imagine Dragons’ collaboration with the organization.
