Former Dallas Cowboys linebacker Rashaan Evans was apprehended on Tuesday and his mug shot was released by law enforcement on Friday. It is evident from the photo that he was displeased with being incarcerated.
Following the arrest, the 28-year-old was released from the Cowboys team on Wednesday. The arrest occurred when officers detected a strong smell of marijuana emanating from Evans’ 2021 Ram 1500 near the Cowboys’ practice facility in Frisco, Texas. According to police reports, at approximately 10:46 PM, officers observed Evans in the driver’s seat of his vehicle. Upon questioning, Evans admitted to having a small amount of marijuana in the car. However, upon searching the Ram, law enforcement discovered burnt marijuana residue, marijuana cigarettes, rolling papers, and a vacuum-sealable bag containing three separate baggies of marijuana, weighing a total of 2.240 ounces.
Evans was subsequently charged with a misdemeanor offense for marijuana possession. The Cowboys made the decision to part ways with Evans shortly after his arrest. Evans had recently joined the Dallas roster in October and had participated in nine games this season, including the team’s recent loss to Miami. As of now, he has not publicly addressed the situation
