Two-time Oscar winner Jodie Foster launched a scathing attack on Generation Z in a recent interview with The Guardian, expressing disdain for the work ethic of young people in their early twenties and teenagers on movie and television sets.

Her comments prompted the obvious question: Who exactly is she referring to? Foster’s blunt assessment has raised eyebrows and sparked a heated discussion about generational differences in the entertainment industry!

Jodie heaped praise on 20-year-old actress Bella Ramsey, requesting her to introduce her at an event and admiring how she symbolizes contemporary womanhood through her style choices. Interestingly, Bella identifies as nonbinary, adding another layer of diversity and inclusivity to the conversation.

Jodie criticized other members of Gen Z, including former coworkers, complaining, “They’re incredibly annoying, especially in the workplace. They’ll say, ‘I’m not feeling it today; I’ll arrive at 10:30 a.m.'”

Or in emails,” she goes on, “I’ll let them know that everything is grammatically wrong, and I’ll ask if they didn’t check their spelling. And they respond by asking why they should do that and saying that it’s limiting.”

The irony, of course, is that Jodie started out in showbiz at a very young age too. In fact, she was just 12 years old while acting in Martin Scorsese’sTaxi Driver.” Perhaps she’s using that experience and how she handled herself to rip on this new, hip generation!

It seems like Jodie Foster is commenting on her personal experiences with younger actors during her time on set. While she didn’t explicitly name names, Foster’s remarks suggest encountering specific individuals exhibiting Gen Z work culture and attitudes that contradict her own values and standards. To the younger generation working in the industry, Foster’s message serves as a reminder to maintain a professional demeanor and avoid unacceptable behavior, lest they incur the disapproval of esteemed veterans like Jodie Foster!
