SHAKIRA RELIEF AS ALLEGED STALKER ARRESTED IN MIAMI

Shakira has had a Miami stalker arrested after he showed up randomly at her house, scaring her and her two children, on January 9, 2024.

The Colombian singer moved to Miami with her children in April 2023, following her separation from former Barcelona soccer player Gerard Pique after 11 years of marriage, which began when they met at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa on July 10, 2010.

A 56-year-old Texas man was arrested on Monday for allegedly stalking Shakira, sending the singer “alarming and disturbing” messages on social media, and causing her to feel fearful for her safety and that of her two children, Sasha and Milan. According to WSVN, the man’s unwanted advances led Shakira to seek legal action, handing the matter over to her lawyers after he approached her Miami mansion, sparking concerns for her well-being and the safety of her children.

The situation took a dramatic turn when Shakira realized that the alleged stalker had arrived at her doorstep, having taken a cab to her residence. It was then that the Miami Beach police intervened, arresting the individual and charging him with stalking the Colombian singer.

This incident highlights the vulnerability of celebrities to unwanted attention and harassment. Taylor Swift, another renowned artist, has also faced a similar ordeal in the past, underscoring the need for increased security measures and legal protections to safeguard the privacy and safety of public figures.

Shakira has previously encountered unexpected visitors who have managed to enter her home with the intention of getting close to her, but they may think twice before attempting this again now that she is in a relationship with Travis Kelce, a formidable NFL player standing at 6ft5in and weighing 250lb.

After relocating to Miami, Shakira has continued to reside there, but her experience has been marred by the presence of two stalkers, whom she has subsequently reported to the authorities.

Moreover, Shakira has faced additional incidents, including the discovery of graffiti on her property, where one of the stalkers had proposed marriage. The same individual also shouted at her from the street and insulted journalists. Separately, a French fan has been leaving letters in her mailbox. To address these episodes, Shakira has filed two official complaints with the authorities.
