Vergara acknowledged that while her personal life is subject to public scrutiny, she was pleasantly surprised by the media’s respectful handling of her divorce, noting that “the press has been kind and considerate…I’ve been moving forward, and I understand that comes with the territory of being a celebrity. I anticipated the attention, but I’m grateful for the tactful approach.”
So vergara attributed her ability to navigate the challenges of public scrutiny to the media’s responsible and respectful coverage, commending their professionalism in reporting on her personal life.
Vergara remarked that the media coverage wasn’t as intrusive as she had anticipated, admitting that she had braced herself for more sensationalized reporting, stating, “I thought they would make up more stories, like they usually do.”
The actress expressed gratitude for the media’s straightforward and factual reporting, noting that they simply reported the facts without embellishment or sensationalism, saying, “they just told it like it was, and that was it.”
Last summer, Vergara and Manganiello issued a joint statement announcing their decision to split, kindly asking the public and media to respect their privacy as they navigated this significant life change.
Two days after the joint statement, Manganiello formally initiated the divorce proceedings by filing a divorce petition, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
In an interview with ET in September 2023, Vergara reflected on the year, characterizing it as “eventful” and marked by a mix of “good and crazy moments, and ups and downs”, acknowledging that both challenges and opportunities had come her way.
She highlighted her optimistic outlook, saying, “I can’t complain, I’ve had an amazing experience, incredibly fulfilling, with many great moments that far outweigh the difficult ones.”
Both Vergara and Manganiello have moved on and are focusing on new relationships. Vergara was seen with Dr. Justin Saliman in the fall, but has chosen to keep the relationship under wraps. A source revealed to ET that the couple is “going strong”, respecting Vergara’s desire for privacy. Meanwhile, Manganiello has been linked to actress Caitlin O’Connor, signaling a new romantic chapter in his life.
Vergara is looking to the future with positivity, despite the obstacles she faced in 2023. She is eagerly anticipating the release of her Netflix limited series, Griselda, on January 25, and is also enthusiastic about the continued success of her skincare line, Toty.
She hinted at upcoming ventures, saying, “I have a number of exciting projects lined up for next year that I hope will resonate with audiences just as much.“
