On Monday morning, around 7:00 a.m., a swatting incident occurred at the White House. An unknown individual called 911, falsely reporting a fire at the White House, claiming someone was trapped inside. DC Fire and EMS responded, but it was quickly determined to be a false alarm. This incident is part of a dangerous trend sweeping the country. Note: Swatting can lead to serious consequences and risks lives.

On Monday morning, a fraudulent 911 call was made in the D.C. area around 7:00 a.m., with the caller falsely reporting a fire at the White House (1600 Pennsylvania Ave.) and claiming someone was trapped inside.

Joe Biden in PHILLY

President Joe Biden and his family were not at the White House this morning as they were spending time at Camp David. Shortly after, the President traveled to Philadelphia for an event honoring Martin Luther King Jr., which he is scheduled to attend later today.

It is unclear if President Joe Biden was immediately informed about the swatting incident, but the local fire department responded to the false report and arrived at the White House, where they met with Secret Service agents to investigate and determine the situation’s validity.

The swatting incident was soon revealed to be a hoax, as when authorities attempted to contact the number that made the initial call, the person on the other end denied making the call, indicating that it was a false report intended as a prank, and not a legitimate emergency.

It’s astonishing that the nation’s capital fell victim to a swatting incident at the White House, one of the most secure and high-profile residences globally. One would expect advanced security measures, including cameras, to be in place to prevent such incidents. However, it appears that even the most protected locations can be vulnerable to such pranks.
