The Labour Party in Edo State has categorically rejected a document circulating online titled “Guidelines and Timetable for Edo State Governorship Primaries,” dismissing it as a forgery. According to Comrade Sam Uroupa, the party’s Publicity Secretary, the document allegedly signed by Dr. Abayomi Arabambi is deemed fake. Uroupa clarified that Arabambi is not affiliated with the Labour Party and holds no official position within the organization, emphasizing his lack of authority to make statements on internal party affairs.

In a press release issued on Friday, Uroupa made it clear that neither the national secretariat nor any authorized official has published any official guidelines or timetable for the upcoming 2024 gubernatorial primaries. The party has established communication channels with its national secretariat, and Uroupa assured party members and the public that any genuine information regarding the primaries will be disseminated exclusively through these official channels.

“We urge all governorship aspirants, party members, and the general public to disregard the counterfeit document attributed to Dr. Arabambi,” appealed Uroupa. “The official guidelines and timetable for the Edo State governorship primaries will be communicated once released by the national secretariat of the Labour Party.”
