Manchester United has officially declared that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is poised to purchase a 25% stake in the Class B shares currently held by the Glazer family.

In addition, Ratcliffe will obtain a maximum of 25% of the Class A shares, contributing $300 million (£236.6m) for prospective investments in Old Trafford.

Under Ratcliffe’s ownership, INEOS will take charge of football operations across both men’s and women’s teams, at the academy level. INEOS will also secure two seats on the boards of Manchester United PLC and the football club. The entire financial transaction will be facilitated by Trawlers Limited, with no resultant debt.
